Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program
CNA certification is required for entry into most nursing programs. Some medical schools recommend that pre-medicine students also work as CNAs prior to entering medical school. If you enjoy working with people, feel that you have a positive attitude, are dependable, kind, patient, and could make a difference in the lives of others who have physical illness/disabilities, this may be the profession for you. Students participating in this academy are eligible for 22 concurrent enrollment credit hours from Metro Community College at no cost. The CNA Academy program includes courses in CPR, Community Emergency Response, Medical Terminology I & II, Employability Skills in Health Care, CNA/Long Term Care, and Clinicals. Tuition will be paid through DoDEA Project STEM Careers Grant.
BPS began this program in the 2021-22 school year.
