• Over the past year, Bellevue Public Schools (BPS) has participated in numerous meetings/briefings with state and local health officials, metro-area school districts, statewide leaders, elected officials, and other officials to inform the district’s plan to remain in school throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The district is providing this updated plan for the 2021-22 school year below.

BPS will continue to consult with state and local health departments to inform the district’s approach/plan throughout the year.  The District also reserves the right to make adjustments to all parts of the plan, if needed, to meet specific challenges faced by our schools to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The Local Public Health Departments (LHD) in the Omaha Metro Area are working collectively with local school districts on the importance of keeping students in school for learning and are prioritizing actions that will support this while also mitigating the possible spread of COVID-19 this fall. Please reference their letter: LHD General Guidelines for Prevention of COVID-19 in Schools 2021-2022

Important Highlights (updated February 4, 2022):

    • The District will follow the BPS 2021-22 calendar.
    • Bellevue Public Schools WILL NOT be providing students and families the At-Home learning option for the 2021-22 school year.
    • Face coverings are optional, although STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, for all students, staff, visitors and spectators.
    • Age-eligible students and staff members are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to receive a COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and others from the COVID-19 virus and variants.

Please know BPS will remain focused on the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. We will continue to be here and help support you anyway we can.
