Summer Enrichment Opportunities
High ability learners have a wide range of activities to exercise their brains and challenge their thinking within the Omaha-Metro community and beyond during the summer. Here are links to some innovative and challenging summer learning opportunities.

Fine Arts
The Durham Museum offers a wide range of classes for any interest - really, ANY interest. So many great choices!
Arts for All offers classes year-round and cover a wide range of topics from comic book illustration to slam poetry to sculpture. Show off your talent at one of their local classes!
Camp Shakespeare is one way your summer can pay tribute to the bard! Check out how you can be involved in a variety of performance and learning exchanges.
The Joslyn Art Museum offers a wide range of art classes during every season.
Big Red Academic Camps offer students a chance to study culinary arts, fashion design, filmmaking, and government all on the big UNL campus.
Concordia Language Villages in Minnesota is offering virtual course to immerse yourself in language study.
Want to be an actor, producer, or director? How about trying out a class at The Rose Theater? Have a ton of fun learning about dramatic arts while putting on a show!
Creative writers will find a home at Fine Lines where students spend time writing and eventually publishing their work!
College 4 Kids & College 4 Teens provides week-long academic camps in different communities throughout the Metro area sponsored by Metropolitan Community College.
The Young Americans World Tour summer camp is hosted at Midland University, right down the road in Fremont, NE.
The Thespian Festival brings high school acting talent to the stage for an exciting week of learning and activity!
The UNL Young Writers Camp is for students in grades 9-12 who love to write! Aspiring slam poets, short story writers, playwrights...any kind of writer at all will work 1:1 with a writing mentor, have their work published in an anthology, and give a public reading of their piece. -
Leadership
Launch Summer Leadership Workshop This five day, four night workshop for students entering grades 6-12 uncovers students' leadership potential and ability to make a positive impact. Located at Doane University in Crete, NE. Registration is open for both the June and July workshops.
UNO Maverick Young Entrepreneur Bootcamp is a week dedicated to curious, self-motivated students in grades 7 - 10 who are interested in experiencing entrepreneurship. -
Science & Math
Aim for the Stars Summer Math and Science Camps: a wide range of summer camps for grades 4-8 sponsored by UNO.
Techademy, another great source of learning at UNO offers learning activities in computer programming, music composition, Game with Adobe Flash, Bioinformatics, and Cyber Adventures in Security (just to name a few...) Multiple sessions throughout June and July.
AGAM Virtual Math Camp hosts summer math camps for students in grades 10-12 at UNL. The Summer Mathematics Camp for High School Students provides a stimulating and supportive environment for students to develop their mathematical ability and interest.
Big Red Summer Academic Camps offer students a chance to go to UNL and study topics like App Development, Crop Science, Vet Science and more.
The Strategic Air and Space Museum offers summer camps (both day camps and overnight camps) focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
Bright Lights: for those students who head to Lincoln for part of the summer, check out Bright Lights, a non-profit offering a wide range of learning camps for K-12 students.

The Omaha Zoo offers a wide variety of day camps to help you experience the wild side of life!
Nebraska 4-H offers a variety of learning experience to all students, 4-H members or not. Check out their offerings from robotics to leadership skills.
