CALLING ALL STUDENT ARTISTS!
As part of the fundraising efforts for our trip to nationals, the Bellevue East student newspaper is planning an art contest for its next issue! If you have a favorite piece of artwork, this is your chance to share it with the world.
How the contest works:
-
Submit a photo of your best artwork to this Google Form! (If it doesn’t let you upload, email it to stephenie.conley@bpsne.net)
-
Pay the entry fee of $5 to Mrs. Conley in room B03 by April 23rd.
-
Wait for the school to vote on their favorite artwork! The student's favorite will be published in the next issue of the school newspaper.
All money raised from the contest will go toward travel to the National Journalism Conference in Seattle this spring. Thank you for your participation! Check out Schoology for more information.
Our next Diversity Club meeting will be this Wednesday, April 9th. Come and be who you are.
Graduation speaker tryouts will be on April 23rd during 2B. You must have a drafted version of your speech sent to Ms. Redding no later than April 11th via a Google doc. Speeches should be approximately 3–5 minutes long. If you have any questions, email Ms. Redding or see her in B16.'
Do you have any old clothes that you want to trade out for new items? Join the Earth Day Clothing Swap! Drop off any unwanted clothing items in the bin inside the counseling office, then stop by Bellevue Earth Day on April 13th (held at the John B. Muller building at Bellevue University). For every item you donate, you can pick out one new item at Earth Day. Help us combat fast fashion while adding to your wardrobe!
Take II show choir auditions are this week! Today, April 8th, we will be hosting a prep day to prepare you for your audition. Wednesday, April 9th, will be the audition day! All events will be held in the choir room. Audition packets are located on the bulletin board in the A-Wing. Please e-mail Mr. Groth at David.groth@bpsne.net if you have any questions.
The Chieftain Yearbook Staff will have openings for photographers, graphic designers, and writers! If you love to take photos, design, or write and would like to be a part of making our amazing yearbook, email Mrs. Conley now!
Hey seniors, do the FAFSA. This is a graduation requirement, so make sure to do it now. There is also an opt-out form in the counseling office if you need one.
Also, as a reminder, Joan Jurek will be here. To help with the FAFSA all day. Please sign up with the link that was provided in your email. If you have questions about the FAFSA, she is the one you will want to talk to.
Seniors, have you been offered any scholarships? DO YOU want to ring the bell? Even if you don’t. Then let Ms. Hadley, hey, that’s me, know. Send me the email of your offer, take a picture or screenshot of the offer, and then email it to me, or better yet, bring in your award letter, and I will even print a copy. Even if you are not going to accept the scholarship, I still need to know about it. This is how you will get invited to honors night. So get that information to me ASAP.
Remember to check out all the scholarships available to you on Schoology, newsletters, as well as the BPS website.
All, Students, remember to check your school email and view the Instructional Roster course on Schoology for school-related information and opportunities, including scholarships, programs, college visits, and more.
COLLEGE VISITS:
Remember, you must be passing the class you are missing to attend any of these visits. Teachers, if you feel as though a student should stay in class, please let me know.

Juniors and Seniors, please sign up at least one day before the visit. You can do so with the QR codes in both your English class and in the Counseling Office, or email Mr.
