Dear Seniors/Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to your students’ senior year. I am sure you are wondering where has the time gone? All of us here at Bellevue East hope to make this your best year ever.
Beginning in July, you will start to receive our Senior Newsletter monthly. This newsletter will consist of important reminders and dates, scholarships currently available, colleges visiting Bellevue East, and any additional senior year information. If they get lost in the shuffle, they will also be posted to our school website under academics.
Please make sure we have your correct email and home address on file. This is to ensure you receive all senior information. Email accounts can be added by sending an email to Malinda.Hadley@bpsne.net. If you need an address change, please send all information to bps.enrollment@bpsne.net. They will need proof of residency via a current utility bill, rental agreement or tax statement.
There will be over 300 scholarships advertised by the end of the school year. This is only a small portion of what is available. Many criteria are considered for scholarships, including academics, community service, leadership, disabilities, and financial need. Community service is one of the highest dollar value scholarships, so all students have a chance at qualifying for something. Please follow Mr. Chudomelka on Twitter. He will also post several scholarships that are available. I know this can sometimes be overwhelming. Don't forget we are here to help. Parents, please help remind our students that the more applications a student submits, the greater chance of receiving awards. If they are awarded any scholarships, please make sure to let Ms. Hadley know. That way, we can recognize them for all their hard work.
Most colleges and scholarships will require a student to submit their ACT/SAT scores, letters of recommendation, resumes, essays and transcripts. Each one has their own deadlines, so check their website or application for verification. If you need a copy of your transcripts please let me know so I can get one for you. Remember I need a release of information on file to send any transcript for you.
This year we are going to be doing a few new things. I am going to be putting together several different senior slideshows. I will, however, need your help or assistance for this. The senior slideshows will consist of pictures students and parents submit throughout the year. We ask that all photos be submitted no later than March 10th. Below is a live link where you will be able to submit all the photos by then.
AS A REMINDER, THIS IS NOT FOR THE YEARBOOK. THIS IS FOR THE SLIDESHOW ONLY.
You will still need to submit your senior photos to Mrs. Conley for the yearbook.
This is what I will need: (There is no set criteria. They just have to be school appropriate)
1) Kindergarten photo
2) Senior photo
3) Pictures students/parents submit throughout the year. We ask that all pictures that are submitted have at least 2 or more seniors. I will be taking pictures as well.
Please submit all photos to this link:
Again, we look forward to working with you on preparing you for your next journey. Below you will also find the transcript release form, your first senior newsletter, and our senior signs form. Once a chieftain, always a chieftain!
