Welcome to Peter Sarpy Elementary

I am Jessica Loghry, principal at Peter Sarpy Elementary, and I am happy to welcome you to our school! I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Bellevue Public Schools because of the true understanding that we want what is best for ALL students; it’s why we are here! Our school’s population allows for many great relationships to be built with not only our students, but their families, too. I absolutely love the ability of having so many students share such unique experiences with their fellow classmates, allowing for further exploration and curiosity to spark.

I would not necessarily say I am “from” Bellevue, as I grew up in a military family, moving often just like many of our Peter Sarpy families. Roughly 80% of our student population has ties with Offutt Air Force Base, which is located just a few miles down the road from our school.

I graduated from Bellevue West High School after moving here for the military. After high school, earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I taught fourth and sixth grades for 10 years at Bellevue Public Schools. I then became a lead teacher before I was made principal at Peter Sarpy in 2019.

It is my goal for all students to continue building positive relationships and an even greater foundation for future successes as their education continues beyond their elementary years.
