Welcome to Avery Elementary

My name is John Campbell and I have been the principal at Avery since 2015 and with Bellevue Public Schools since 2004. I love what I do and love the challenges each day brings! 

I have always enjoyed building relationships with students, as well as my peers. As the building principal, building strong, positive relationships with students, families, and my staff is a high priority. We also take pride in providing students with a strong academic environment that will challenge their thinking, as well as allow them to grow as a person.

I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in coaching. I was hired by Bellevue Public Schools in 2004 as a 6th grade teacher. As a Bellevue graduate myself, I was extremely excited to join a community and school district that gave me so much. After my first year of teaching and coaching, I began my master’s at Peru State College where I received my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Following the completion of my first master’s, I attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for my second master’s in education administration.

What I love most about Avery is the staff and students. Their commitment to learning and bettering themselves is second to none!
