BPS COVID-19 Protocols for Summer 2021

Face Masks Optional for Summer

Beginning June 1, 2021, face masks will be optional for all BPS summer events including summer school and all school sponsored summer activities happening on BPS property. This applies to students and staff, as well as any spectators at extracurricular activities.

Face masks remain highly recommended for anyone that is NOT fully vaccinated. If you choose not to wear a mask and you have a close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual, we will follow guidance from the Sarpy/Cass Health Department.

Should there be any unanticipated outbreaks of COVID, we will consult with the Health Department and determine if short-term masking will be required.

This only applies to Summer 2021. There have been no decisions made regarding face masks or other COVID protocols for the 2021-22 school year at this time.

COVID-19 Protocols Continued for Summer:

  • Strongly recommend that parents/guardians continue screening their child(ren) daily before sending them to school, camps or extracurricular activities.

  • Any student or staff member experiencing symptoms should stay home.

  • Cleaning and sanitizing protocols will continue to be followed.

  • Continue frequent hand washing. Particularly after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

  • Remind children the importance of using healthy behavior at school.

  • Encourage social distancing (recommended 3 ft) when possible.
