Elementary

Students identified with high-ability learning needs in grades 3-8 may participate in a classroom pullout program taught by High-Ability Learning specialists.  These teachers provide extended learning sessions within the students' schools. The teachers tailor challenging and rigorous content, process, and/or product to meet the unique needs of the high-ability learning students at each building.

Middle school teachers who fulfill the extra-duty position of Academic Coach provide opportunities for students to extend learning in a variety of ways through competitive learning activities and/or extended classroom experiences.  Academic Coaches select appropriate academic competitions for their individual buildings, help students prepare for those competitions, and seek out other unique learning events to challenge middle school students with high-ability learning needs outside of the traditional classroom.
