ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, December 12th

Attention all Seniors:  The Comprehensive Scholarship Packets deadline is tomorrow at 3:30. Just a reminder that BEFORE turning the application into Counseling, you need to make sure to have all supporting documents attached.

Attention all Bellevue East Students:  We are looking to collect as many quarters as possible to raise money for pediatric cancer patients.  Each of your 4th period teachers will be collecting quarters and the goal is to have the most points by tomorrow. The winner will be receiving a special prize at the end of the fundraiser.  Any questions you have, ask your 4th hour teacher.

Attention all Seniors:  The yearbook photo deadline is Friday, December 20th. Make sure your photo meets the specifications BEFORE turning it in. Check your student Gmail for guidelines. Senior dedications are also due December 20th for the lowest price. Submit your order and payment by the deadline to secure your space in the Yearbook. See Mrs. Conley in B-03 for any questions.

Attention all students! The current price to purchase a yearbook is $65.  The price will go up to $70 on Saturday, December 21st, so buy yours now before it's too late.  Go to Balfour.com or see Mrs. Conley in B-03. Special accessory packages are available to online purchasers only.

Are you interested in building lasting friendships with a diverse group of peers? Do you think being kind and respectful to everyone is important? Then IncluCity Camp is for you!! Bellevue East is able to bring 15 students to attend a four day, three night camp in Ashland, Nebraska January 24th through 27th. The purpose of this camp is "to help individuals confront bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination. You will discover ways to dismantle stereotypes while also build lasting cross-cultural relationships.”    Please email Miss Sonntag if you want to attend or stop by D-08 to pick up an information packet. Deadline to apply is January 10th.

If anyone is still interested in signing up for the Europe 2021 trip, please see Mr. Porter as soon as possible.  There will be another meeting this evening at 6:00 p.m. in Mr. Porter's Room K02. There was some confusion as to the sign-up procedures and this will be addressed tonight.  See Mr. Porter with any questions.

Hey DECA members! Tonight is our annual DECA Christmas Party from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Library. Bring a $5 gift to participate in White Elephant gift exchange.  Food, drinks and games will be provided.

It's time to sign up for intramural basketball!  League play will be on Sunday nights this year. Get your team together and pick up a registration form from Mr. Raabe in G06.

Good morning Bellevue East.  Six thousand animals get euthanized every day;  2.7 million animals every year and 7.6 million animals experience homelessness and never find a home. This year we plan to lower those numbers by trying to prevent homelessness of animals in the Omaha metro area.  We have partnered with rescue organizations around the community and we are hosting an animal supply drive. There are many boxes around the school where we would love for you to drop your donations. We will accept anything you believe will help an animal in need this holiday season, such as toys, blankets food, beds, clothes, ETC. We thank you for your support in advance.

The "official" Class of 2020 T-shirts are for sale until January 17th.  Orders will be placed through the Digiorgio's webstore. You have the choice of a black t-shirt in either long or short-sleeves.  Please see the flyers hanging in the building for more information and to see a picture of the design. See Mr. Bartholow in F-13 for more information.

Students taking the ACT on Saturday should have received an email with instructions for accessing our new ACT Prep program.  In addition to those resources, you are encouraged to go to OnToCollege.com this Thursday and Friday night from 7:00 to 9:30 pm for free live online help.  An OnToCollege ACT expert will review test strategies, answer any questions you have about preparing for the test, and go over practice questions. Bring your own questions, or just listen in to others. You do NOT need your login information for this free session.  Remember, preparing for the ACT can be the best paying job a high school student can have! Just a few points can mean getting into the best-fit college for you or earning a scholarship! See Mr. Mason if you have any questions.

There is finally snow on the ground and while most of you can wear winter coats, have a heated house and warm food, a lot of others are struggling on cold streets with little food and clothing.  So help make a difference and donate to your English Classroom. Not only will you be helping somebody out for the holidays, but the winning class will be rewarded with donuts. So students and staff bring donations to English Classroom before Friday afterschool where they will be collected and taken to a homeless shelter.

Hey Chieftain Nation!  Please support our Chieftain Varsity Basketball teams as we play West this Saturday, December 14th, at West at 5:30 & 7:15 pm.  East/West TeeShirts are on sale now in the school store. $12 for Short Sleeve and $15 for Long Sleeve. Please “Purple Up” and support our Bellevue East Chieftains!

Seniors: If you want a transcript sent to a college, technical school or the military, you must have a release on file with the Counseling Office.
