Want to send a sweet treat to your friends for the holidays? If so, then buy a candy cane gram for 50 cents during your lunch period this week from the Freshmen class officers!  The grams will be delivered during GPS next week.

Attention Class of 2021, if you are interested in a class t-shirt, see Mrs. Donner in F08 for an order form.  Orders are due by December 20th.

That last day to buy yearbooks this semester for $65 is December 21st.  After that date, the price goes up to $70. Get your yearbook now from room B-03, or on Balfour.com.  SENIORS! Hurry to secure your space for a senior dedication in the yearbook. The last chance for the lowest price is also December 21st.  Get the order form now from Mrs. Conley in room B-03!

SENIORS!  Senior photo deadline is December 21st.  Email your photos to Mrs. Conley or bring them to her in room B-03.

GSA is having a holiday gathering on Monday, December 17th, after school in F-12.  Students are encouraged to bring a snack and a white elephant gift costing no more than $5.  However, these are not required. All are welcome to attend! See Mrs. Carraher for more details.

It's time to sign up for intramural basketball!  Get your team together as 3 on 3 intramural basketball league games will be starting in January.  Stop by room G06 and get a registration packet from Mr. Raabe. Team registrations are due on Friday, December 14th!  

Spanish Club Christmas! Come to C03 this coming Thursday, December 13th, for a white elephant gift exchange. Bring something useful but FREE for the gift exchange from home.  

Attention National Business Honor Society Members.  Please see the NBHS board outside of room D26 for where you stand on community service hours and be sure to get your required hours before the end of the semester.  Hours forms are also available there as well as dates of upcoming meetings. See Mr. Werner if you have any questions. For anyone else interested in being selected for NBHS in the spring, this board also contains information on how to become eligible.

Just a daily reminder to be sure to bring in non-parishable items to your GPS that will be donated to a homeless shelter for veterans. The GPS with the most items by the end of this week will then be rewarded, as well as one person that has donated will be drawn from a raffle and win one dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. Please help make a difference and donate.

There are two 2019-2020 programs available to juniors and seniors that would allow high school students to attend courses outside of Bellevue East.  

The first program is the MCC Career Academy Program.  This program allows students the opportunity to earn high school and college credit in 24 career paths.  The options include auto collision, auto body, plumbing, electrical, criminal justice, early childhood education, architecture, 3 D animation, and many more.  For a full list of the programs available, for more information, and to apply, visit www.mccneb.edu/career-academy.  Applications are due March 4, 2019.  Students can also visit with their guidance counselor for more information.  If a paper copy of the application is needed, please e-mail Mike Chudomelka requesting a paper copy of the application, and include the program of interest.

The second program available is the UNMC High School Alliance.  Students in the program can take classes at UNMC in areas of behavioral health, biomedical research, medical imaging, human genetics, and many more.  Students can pick up an informational brochure from the counseling office, and/or visit the web site www.unmc.edu/alliance.  To apply, students must create an account on the web site and proceed from there.  Applications are due March 1, 2019.

Chieftain Nation:  The Friday you return to school after the Holiday Break, the Bellevue West Basketball Team's "Thunder is Going Under!" when the Chieftain Boys and Girls' Basketball teams bring on a ViCTORY here at Bellevue East. Come and cheer on your Chieftains Friday Night January 11th!

What will you wear, you ask?  Your East/West Tshirts are now on preorder for delivery after the Holidays.   You will need to order and prepay for your shirts before the break, as just a small quantity of extras will be purchased. Please come to F03 or the School store to get your order form today. Forms are due in by December 21st.  Come out and support YOUR CHIEFTAINS!
