BPS Comprehensive Scholarship Program Package

THE BPS COMPREHENSIVE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM PACKET

This is an opportunity for each senior to submit a single application and be considered for a variety of community scholarships awarded by local organizations to Seniors of Bellevue East High School. You may compete only with other seniors at Bellevue East. Any senior who plans to continue their education after graduation should fill out and submit an application for this scholarship program.

Seniors will receive the Bellevue Public Schools Comprehensive Scholarship Program applications every year in the early fall.  The Comprehensive packet is a fillable Word document.   If you want to save your work, you’ll have to use the “save as” function to put it in your own drive space.

Neatness makes a difference! Carefully complete this application.

Follow these steps for a complete application package: (remember to open application in Word, not just view)

1.  Read the instructions for completing the application package.  Request ONE Letter of Recommendation (unless otherwise stated on specific scholarship). Prepare a Student Information Sheet or Resume and give it to a teacher with your Request for Recommendation form.

2.  Read the descriptions of the community scholarships and find the ones that apply to you.  Also read the list of supplements needed to make sure you have all required documentation.

3.  Discuss your selections with your parents or guardians and then check them off on the selection sheet.

4.  Now, complete the application carefully. Complete the application online or type in a blank form. Open the fillable Word document.  Use only the space provided for each question.  Follow all directions carefully and be sure to proofread your work before you turn it in so you can avoid any misspellings, cross outs, typos, or poor grammar. Best plan: do a draft first!  As a last resort you can print legibly in black ink on a blank form. Take some time and write a meaningful response to each question. Remember, you will be judged against other applicants solely based on what you write. You and your parent or guardian must sign the application.

5.  Include a resume and any additional documents required.

6.  Finally, turn in your selection sheet, the application, resume and any additional documents needed to the counseling office.  We will get your letter of recommendation directly from the teacher, but you can ask them if they turned it in for you. Your absolute deadline is 3:30 pm on December 13, 2019
