Meet Our Principal
Mr. Zavala came to Wake Robin from Leonard Lawrence Elementary School in Bellevue where he was the Lead Teacher. He has seven years of teaching experience – three teaching P.E. at Peter Sarpy Elementary and three teaching in Grand Island. He began his education career teaching high school math.

The Story of Wake Robin Elementary School
In 1963 after a successful bond issue, the Bellevue Public Schools planned to build four new elementary schools. Frank Thomasek, a member of the Board of Education, proposed that the school nearest to the Wake Robin Cabin and closest to Dr. Gilder's friends in Avery and on Bellevue Boulevard be named Wake Robin Elementary School.
