Just a reminder for GREAT STUDENTS: Tomorrow is the last day you can bring in items for your service project. Volunteers are starting to count items today, so bring more to school and put them in your Health room in the appropriate box.
Attention all NJAHS Art club members. Our next meeting is today, after school in the art room.
Attention all students who are interested in helping a child have a better Christmas! Adopt an angel off of the Angel Tree in the Cafeteria and help make a child’s wish for a good Christmas come true. Every angel hanging on the tree represents a child whose family needs some help this holiday season. Select your angel and recorded your selection on the sign-out sheet. Return your angel to Mr. Owen in room A103. Attach the paper angel to the unwrapped gift and return it to Mr. Owen no later than Wednesday, December 8th. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Do you have a college that you cheer for or know you’re going to attend? What are their colors? Wear a shirt with the name of your favorite college or wear that college’s colors. If you don’t have a favorite, ask your QT teacher what college they earned their degree from and wear those colors.

Student Council Reps. Please be sure and have your 8th graders vote on which theme is their choice for the celebration. We need total number of votes by each theme chosen.
We will add the grand total after all votes have been turned in. Turn in those votes to Miss Kuhn by the end of the day on Wednesday. The officers will tally them Thursday morning and a choice will be made. Keep in mind the theme is for decorations, not to guide how you dress. Your QT teacher should have received the Celebration Theme vote page in their boxes.

Chess Club meets Tuesday, November 17th at 8:00 in Mrs. Kastl’s room.
World Language club meets Tuesday, November 17th after school at 4:00 in Mrs. Hagemann’s room.
Congratulations to both the Lewis & Clark Boys AND Girls Swim team as they took first place in last night's championship swim meet against Logan and Mission.
L&C boys came in first with a score of 57, while Mission came in second with 49 points, and Logan, 3rd, with 19 points. Excellent team effort boys!!
On the girl’s side: L&C dominated winning the meet with a score of 59 points. Mission came in second with 39 points, and Logan, 3rd, with 34 points. Awesome season ladies!!
Thanks for all who came out to support us during the season.
Builders club meets Monday morning at 7:45 in Mrs. Kinsey’s room (A111).
The Angel Tree will go up in the cafeteria on Monday afternoon, November 16. If you would like to help a needy family during the holiday season, please take an angel from the tree, complete the log sheet for the angel and return the gift UNWRAPPED no later than December 5. Please place the gift and the angel in a plastic bag and bring to Mr. Owen. We will have a wrapping party before the holiday break.

All 7th & 8th grade students will be taking the Terra Nova Math test tomorrow. Calculators are allowed on one section of the test. Bring a calculator to school on Thursday if you would like to use one.

The Lewis and Clark Boys Basketball team tipped off their season last night with a 54 to 22 win over Papillion. Pressing Defense was too much for the Titans when the Scouts started the game on a 16 point run. All players contributed to the win, along with 11 points coming from the bench. Brad Brazeal led all scores with 22 points. The Scout JV team also came away victorious in their first game winning 51 to 12. The snake venom got to the Titan JV team as Nolan Bald and Brad Cluff combined for 30 points. Next up, the Scouts hit the road for a 5 games stretch and return for HOMECOMING on the 3rd of December. We will see you there!

Congratulations to the Lewis & Clark Swim team. Last night they competed against Mission Middle School where the girl’s team beat Mission 77-52! The boys meet really came down to the wire and the final score was Lewis and Clark, 53 Mission 53 YES IT WAS A TIE! Great effort by all of the swimmers. Please come out and cheer on the swim team as they compete in the championship meet against both Logan and Mission on Thursday, November 12th at 4:30pm at the Bellevue East pool.
Book club will be meeting after school today at 4PM. If you are coming, please sign up for the late bus if you need it. We’ll be talking about what books we are reading and about future Book Brawl. See you then!

Today after school we will be tipping off the 2009 Lewis & Clark Boys basketball season with both reserve teams facing off against each other. And, in one week from today, the boys varsity and JV teams take on Papillion at home in the Top Off classic here at Lewis & Clark. Game time is 4:30 on November 10th. Leonard Lawrence Elementary needs your help at their carnival on Saturday, November 14th from 10:30 until 4 p.m. This is a great way to earn community service hours. Just sign up on the sheets located near the office.
Student Council wishes to thank all the QT classrooms who participated in donating food to the Bellevue Food Pantry. What a great effort in a short period of time. The QT with the top collection was Mrs. Smith’s QT with 176 items collected . Mrs. Smith’s class will donate the money used for donuts to the Food pantry instead of receiving donuts. We also want to recognize the top QT’s in which BOTH buddy teams participated. The top buddy QTS who together collected 121 items were Mrs. Dunlap and Mrs. Maly. Each of these QTs will be receiving donuts for their efforts. Runners up QTS were: Mr. Mercer with 73, Braasch with 60, Yoachim with 49 and Derickson with 47. Thanks again to everyone who brought any items. Lewis & Clark truly represented well in their efforts! Thanks to Sarah Shewchuk and Kasey Richards who loaded, unloaded and stocked the shelves of the Bellevue Pantry with all of our donations.

A reminder to ALL students who are creating a Lion’s Club Peace Poster…The deadline is Friday, October 30th. Please deliver your work to Mrs. Yoachim ASAP!
Students who helped with the book fair: Please stop by the Media Center and let Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Kelly know if you plan on attending the pizza party this Friday, October 30th after school.

The Student Council will be selling Lewis & Clark Go Green t-shirts beginning today. T-shirts will be on sale in the 7th grade commons after school. The shirts will be $5.00 each.
Tomorrow is the last day to bring in cans for the Bellevue Food Pantry. Please make the effort to bring in at least one canned good so we have a good amount of food to help stock their shelves.

Bellevue East is presenting their fall play, arsenic and Old lace. It’s a comedy that you’ll enjoy. If anyone is interested in attending, it will be presented at Bellevue East this week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7PM. There is NO COST if you have your student ID. Bellevue East is presenting their fall play, arsenic and Old lace. It’s a comedy that you’ll enjoy. If anyone is interested in attending, it will be presented at Bellevue East this week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7PM. There is NO COST if you have your student ID. We encourage al students who love drama to go watch this great comedy.

Find the answer using books, encyclopedias, or the Internet. Write the answer on your homeroom’s paper and at the end of the week turn it in to either Mrs. Bogatz or Mrs. Hagemann. The homeroom with the most answers right will win a donut breakfast. This is a fun way for you to learn about Hispanic American culture.

Scouts lost a heart breaker to Logan 16-14. Alec Ditoro threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Nathan Schenck caught a 56 yard touchdown pass from Ditoro. Scouts look to rebound as they play again Thursday against Norfork at home.

QUIZ BOWL Practice will begin on September 9, 2009 in Mr. Owen's class, room A103. Practice will be from 7:45-8:15 and 4:00-5:00.
