Bellevue Will Not Extend the School Year

An article in the Saturday, February 6, 2010 Omaha World-Herald indicated that Bellevue Public Schools will extend the school year to make up snow days. This is incorrect--Bellevue has five snow days left and will not extend the school year.

Learning Community Offers Open Enrollment

The Learning Community Law provides students in grades K-12, living in Douglas or Sarpy counties with the opportunity to enroll in any school, as long as a school has not reached capacity. The open enrollment application process begins January 15, 2010 and concludes on March 15, 2010

SOAR Provides Tutorials and Worldwide State Assessments

SOAR (Student Online Achievement Resources) is an online resource for students and parents. With the click of a mouse SOAR takes the child to a virtual classroom. Students can view state assessments, test to see their strengths and areas where they need improvement, and work on tutorials.

The Story of LeMay Elementary School

On November 7, 1966, the Board of Education accepted the administrative recommendation to name the new elementary school, the third to be located on federal property in the Capehart Housing Area, LeMay Elementary School.
